How Region N3 handles reader information.
Region N3 is a Northwest Indiana news product under the National News Network brand. This page describes our current practices. Formal counsel review is pending.
What we collect
- Account details you submit when you register (username, display name, password hash).
- Session cookies used to keep you signed in and to meter free article reads.
- Optional tip submissions and newsletter email addresses you choose to send us.
- Basic server logs (IP, path, time) for security and abuse prevention.
How we use it
We use account and session data to run the site, enforce the free-article meter, and protect staff tools. Tips go to the Managing Editor for review and are not auto-published. Newsletter emails are stored until an email service provider is chosen — we do not sell lists and we do not claim a third-party ESP until one is live.
Advertising
Ad slots on the site are placeholders. If advertising is enabled later, advertising cookies may apply under the ad network’s policies. We will update this page when that happens.
